The Audubon Society of Jackson County, Michigan
Join us for a visit to the Burke Lake Bird Banding Station. This MSU research facility is located near Bath, Michigan. We will witness the banding and data collection of the birds trapped in their nets and take photographs of the birds up close.
Accessibility: Burke Lake Station has areas of wet ground, slight hills and a boardwalk that can be slippery depending on weather conditions. Those who may not be able to walk the boardwalk trail are also welcome to stay with our crew at the banding tent area during the net runs. There is a smaller area for handicap parking closer to the station.
Carpool: The group size for this will be limited and registration is required. We will meet in the Airport Rd. Meijer parking lot behind McDonalds at 7:30 AM.
Email Jackson Audubon (jacksonaudubon@gmail.com) to register for this tour and advise if you will be able to drive in the carpool.
