TIME CHANGE: 6:30 PM
03/06 update:
I scouted tonight and found 7 o'clock is too early. So I'm moving up the start time to 6:30 PM. We should have a good moon and clear sky. Most of the remining snow should be burned off as well. It is wet out there so muck boots would be a good choice. I heard peenting as well as arial display sounds.
Bring a flashlight and see the annual breeding spectacle of the American Woodcock , a.k.a. Timberdoodle, peenting at the Riethmiller Road grassland. This prairie is a reliable and excellent observation location.
NOTE: This is an EVENING event starting at 6:30 PM.
This event will be ON the full moon so this may help with visibility.
It is March, we are in Michigan, and the sun will be setting-so dress warmly.
Meet at DNR parking lot, north side of Riethmiller Rd., west of St. Jacob's church.

This is a parking lot in the prairie area, not the parking lot that is in the wooded area east of the church.
